Orderly book : belonging to the Independant [sic] Artillery Company, Deerfield, New Hampshire, 1836-1846.

Orderly book begun by Peter Mooers, clerk of the Independent Artillery Company of the 18th Regiment of the New Hampshire Militia. Mooers, Joseph W. James (later Captain) and Benjamin Currier (later Lieutenant) were the original members of the Company. The entries, which date from 1836 to 1846, contain copies of the company's Act of Incorporation, Constitution and By-laws, lists of men and equipment, company, regimental and brigade orders, Subjects include the mustering, assembly, inspection, and equipping of the company. The Company is referred to variously as the Independent (or Independant) Artillery Company, Company of Independent Artillery, or Independent Company of Artillery but is named in the Act of Incorporation as the Independent Artillery Company.
